How should i keep my vintage magazines?
I have a growing collection of magazines from the 30’s-70’s. I like to look thru them and want to keep them accessible but safe from damage. Any ideas?
Might I suggest acid free paper or plastic sleeves used for photos. You can buy them at photography shops, hobby stores and craft stores
This will help to keep the ink from fading or transfering off the paper as well as protect the paper types.
As you know paper was milled very diffrent in the 30’s than today. In fact even in the 70’s paper was milled different.
Ink also is a factor. Ink pigments are made with materials we do not put in inks anymore. Because of environment or health issues.
Then If you can after you put them in the sleeves try to put them in a rubbermaid plastic tub instead of a cardboard box.

giveyou2tictacs is giving you some good advice. And you might want to purchase a fire proof safe to put the rubbermaid box in too. You could also pur the rubbermaid box in one of those shrink-to-fit storage bags to protect against water damage as well.
