No. I subscribe to a magazine to help me understand my computer, but a mortgage is different. I would need the mortgage info by a deadline before applying for one. Rather than waiting for the info I need to show up in a magazine, I would read articles online and buy a Mortgages for Dummies type book. Also, I'd go thru my back issues of Consumer Reports Money newsletter b/c they often have mortgage articles.

If you can read you should be able to understand your mortgage they give you all the time you need when you are signing and should have negotiated the terms with you when you first talked to them.

There are lots of places to help you understand your mortgage. It is OK to read a magazine article but subscribing is overkill. Another good source of info is your local banker.There are a few first time buyer programs that require you to attend a few hours of continuing education as a provision of the loan. Also, ask as many questions as you can of the loan officer with whom you are applying. Don't sign anything until you fully understand what you are signing.

I’d skip the magazine. You can get info from a mortgage company (there’s no reason to avoid them), a bank, or a credit union if they do mortgage loans, as well as from realtors. I’ve looked at houses on-line but would get my loan info from the horses mouth.

I have bought 2 houses without magazines. Just look at stuff online, thats all you need.

I think any magazine, in any field, is for power users. To learn about mortgages, ask your local savings and loan or bank's loan officer. Do Not Go to a Mortgage Company.
