Just wondering if I could give a kindle magazine subscription as a gift and how it would work. I do not have a kindle, but my friend does, and I would like to get him a magazine subscription.

Also, can you subscribe for longer that 1 month at a time? Thank you for your help

I think you cannot. See here about sending gift for the Kindle, you can send the Kindle device as gift but not the content:
