Try a company called "Anderson News". They represent most all of the big name mags. - they deliver new and pick up old. They can lead you in the right direction. They may be doing this already and if not they should be. Great idea!

I just saw the other answers...I know what you are wanting to do. I don't think the other answers understood?? You want bulk mags that are a week old and removed from the shelf for the new weeks mag.?? If that is correct, try
Anderson News. Also, someone said something about a mag. vendor. If you can find a mag. vendor in any store near you, Wal-Mart, grocery store, you will find them on Fridays and sometimes Mondays (if they are behind) they should be able to steer you in the right direction.
References :
Try local newsagents. In Oz they just cut off the masthead and return that for a rebate. They throw out the actual magazine. Or try the publishers.
References :
Try Half Price Books, if you have a location nearby. They accept magazines for resale and will recycle ones they can't sell (they also take donations). I don't know if they'd give you ones they don't want or give you a good deal on them, but you can always ask.

You could also try hospitals, doctors offices, libraries (they've always taken old magazines and books for resale or sharing with others in my experience). Maybe you could set up a box at your local library (with permission), churches, or veterans group (American Legion, DAV) for people to donate magazines or books to.
References :
http://www.halfpricebooks.com/find_a_store.html

They are written off and the front page either removed or defaced.

Try calling the following

Local Recycler. The get some of it
Local Magazine Vendor. They would know where it goes.
Email the magazines you want to do this for and I am sure they will provide you with info.

Hope it helps
References :
you can adopt a solider and write to them and you can send care packages to them also if you like. I recently just got my solider and i wrote to her and plan on sending her a care package too. I went through the website i gave you too.
GOOD LUCK.
