How do fashion retailers place their items in magazine features? What costs are involved? Do magazines source the products themselves or do the retailers contact magazines if they want their products to be featured? If someone could help me that would be great!

Write to the fashion editor of the magazine and let he/she know that you are willing to offer your assistance in product supply. Mention to whar extent you are willing to bear the cost (incase tha products are out of therange you may have) Some times the Magazine might even sell you the credit line for a cost without even supplying the items. If you really have something of value to the Magazines readership, it may even commission their own team ro cover it. You may also invest in high resolution, quality art photographs of you merchandise. If rge art is good the magazine’s Design Head may use it.

For my journalism class, I wrote an article detailing how to get started and buy/sell things on ebay. The professor liked it and said I should try to sell it to a magazine.

What are some magazines that would run this type of article? Any and all suggestions are appreciated!

I am a powerseller on eBay.
When I saw your question I sat up straight in my seat. I had wrote a similar article and sold 100+ electronic version of this publication at $5 each and I stop selling when eBay made some changes to fees structure in April this year. I am now ready with an advance version for people who are already selling on eBay but want to do it better but this time I place it on my blog. If you are talking about hard copies of magazine you should do targetted. I meant, create copies of e.g. How to sell sports equipment on eBay, How to sell antiques on eBay etc. Appraoch some up and comming sports magazine or antique magazine etc. You can advertise your work on electronic on-line magazine like ezine, social network like facebook etc. Do use your imagination and keep an open mind.

I am at eBay as mart-1company and my blog:www.mart-1.com which should give you some ideas.
If you wish to write to me further you may post a reply to me at my blog on a similar related article.
Wish you great success in your publications too.

I mean damaging my magazines, not my walls.

Try using rubber cement, it’s a temporary adhesive just thinly place it on one side and carefully stick them to the wall. you can peel them off after, both from the wall and the magazine. Elmer’s make rubber cement that’s what I bought but if you want a bigger bottle there’s Yes paste.

A magzine that covers new in the IT world, new emerging technologies, and so on. I also want to find a good magazines that will keep me up to date on new japanese anime. I know one is Shonen Jump but I don’t know any others or if there even are others.

to be honest with you, shonen jump out ranks basically all other magazines ,
but i also heard Beckett have a few good ones

uhmm cause shonen is the only one that i can remember doing more than 1 anime and talking about others, while having manga in it

but theyres also megami magazine, you could try that one

I have a growing collection of magazines from the 30’s-70’s. I like to look thru them and want to keep them accessible but safe from damage. Any ideas?

Might I suggest acid free paper or plastic sleeves used for photos. You can buy them at photography shops, hobby stores and craft stores

This will help to keep the ink from fading or transfering off the paper as well as protect the paper types.

As you know paper was milled very diffrent in the 30’s than today. In fact even in the 70’s paper was milled different.

Ink also is a factor. Ink pigments are made with materials we do not put in inks anymore. Because of environment or health issues.

Then If you can after you put them in the sleeves try to put them in a rubbermaid plastic tub instead of a cardboard box.
