I want to start my own magazine, but first off is it true that the magazine business is one of the hardest business to get into? anyway i love and know a lot about cars and i want to start my own magazine related to that. Im not sure what about cars excatly yet. anyways how do i go about stating my own magazine? thanks. also is online better than hard copy?

Firstly find out a place where printing of your magazine could be!
Next find local sponsors who would be willing to pay you, for you to include them in your magazine! (the money could go towards the printing of the magazine and profits!!!)

As I work for a local newspaper… My boss charges sponsors at £180 ($300)

He also has just released his first issue!!
And he’s made reasonable amount of profit :) !!!

If thats doesn’t make sense, what college majors would be helpful to eventually work in the magazine field?

Editor-in-chief – runs the magazine and makes final decisions
Writer – writes articles or features for the magazines, and in some cases conducts interviews
Researcher – researches information needed for the magazine
Sub-editor – edits all articles once they have been written and designed
Designer – designs the layout of magazine pages

Seventeen Magazine because they have make-up tips, fashion, boys, health(like eating more healthy or being fit), life problems, etc. I really recommend Seventeen Magazine because I’m subscribed to it and I read their magazines for years! Another one that is good is Glamour Magazine.

I enjoy reading about how well cameras perform, and photoshop tutorials as well…the only thing I don’t like is when the magazine is full of old photos from this or that photographer with a little story about them. I want something that I can read and learn new things from.

I’m a big fan of Outdoor Photographer. Although I canceled my subscription shortly after starting my job at the camera store where I now work… the store gets them before I do anyway and I have enough downtime to read them.
