Im trying to sell a cookbook-and have a very limited budget-looking for the best way to get advertising in magazines for cheap-i heard that some will advertise for free if you dropship the orderds for them-and give them a cut-any idea how to find these magazines-i have not had a great response emailing some large magazines directly–thanks for any help

You are not going to find too many magazines that will let you in without a contract. Reason being, their ad layout dept. has to have the ad laid out a month ahead of time, meaning they have to know what to put in even BEFORE that. What I would suggest is calling some of these magazines and coming to an agreement where they will call you for "dropped" space at a discount. If you could have your ad ready at a minutes notice, they will work with you. I worked with the local newspaper for this…my rep always called me first on the dropped space and offered Sunday ads to me at 1/3 of the price. Another thing to do is create a glossy flyer and pay to have it "blown in" to the paper. You can usually choose your distribution area. (for instance, if the south end of town is nothing but college students, you may not want to waste your distribution there)

im not good at writing but i love fashion magazines read them all the time and want to have a job with?

fashion magazines but if im not good at writing how can i be one ? and how do i learn ?

Well there are still heaps of ways you could work for a fashion magazine.

Are you good at drawing/ designing?
Can you sew/ design?
Are you good at photography?

Everything I mentioned above can usually be done through an adult education service or TAFE.

You could be a personal assistant, or you could be a model- either one is needed for a fashion magazine.

All the best pursuing your dreams!

How does subscribing to a magazine work?

Posted on December 31st, 2009 by admin in magazine | 3 Comments »

i’m planning to subscribe to Seventeen magazine, and i’m going to choose 36 issues for $15. So my question is, after the 36 issues, will they continue to mail me issues and charge me until i unsubscribe, or does the subscription just ends after the 36?

How does it work?
I’m scared they will continue to withdraw money from my bank account and keep sending me magazines even when my subscription is over.
Thanks!

When subscription is near end, they will make new offers to you

What’s the best magazine for home redecorating ideas?

Posted on December 31st, 2009 by admin in home magazines | 1 Comment »

Need a mag that i can pull pictures out and copy their design into my home. Kinda like the HGTV show Sensible Chic where they take the "Inspiration Room" and transform a boring room into a beautiful room just like the "inspiration room". Looking for a magazine that has lots of full room photographs.

I am a big fan of Domino magazine. Its great for young people who are designing on a budget. Its full of great design ideas and if you get a subscription you can get a great brown and teal tote!

What happens when you dont pay off your magazine subscriptions?

Posted on December 31st, 2009 by admin in magazine subscriptions | 3 Comments »

I cant pay off all my mag subscriptions (vogue, cosmo, teen vogue, etc)

they keep sending me bills. What will happen if i KEEP not paying. they are only for 10 dollars or less but im broke as a joke

Your subscriptions will stop and you will go into their bad debt file and then they will not accept another order from you in the future unless you pay up front. Sorry to hear of your situation. Try not to set yourself up for a bad credit history in your future. If you can’t afford it – don’t buy it. Read it at the bookstore or library. Good luck to you.

Where can I get the cheapest subscription for SEVENTEEN magazine?

Posted on December 29th, 2009 by admin in cheap magazine subscriptions | 2 Comments »

I am looking for the cheapest (and reliable) subscription to Seventeen magazine

You can go to their website and get the ‘12 issues for $10 deal’.
Or you can buy an issue and get those little postcards that have good deals on them.
