Do you like Digital Magazine Subscriptions ?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin in cheap magazine subscriptions | 1 Comment »

Was thinking about buying one apposed to the magazines that come in the mail, they are a heck of a lot cheaper.. what do you guys think?

I’m a magazine publishers as well as an avid reader, so hopefully I can give you a balanced perspective.

As a reader I don’t like digital editions; I far prefer the print editions. There’s something real and intimate about holding a real magazine in your hands, and while digital editions are increasing in popularity I think their still far from being reader-friendly.

Many publishers offer both options, and you’ll see more doing so in the future, especially with the increase in paper and print costs during the last 12 months.

Advertisers love digital editions because their magazine advertising can be far more interactive and the results are instantly measurable (number of clicks, for example).

I think there will always be versions of printed magazines because a significant number of people just don’t like them.

I hope this helps.

Can you have an Art Degree to work in fashion magazines?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin in fashion magazines | 1 Comment »

Hi everyone, I am a senior in high school and I am not sure if I should go to an art school to work in the fashion magazine business. Of course, I would at least have a minor in writing. Thanks for the help.

Of course, you can get just about any job with just about any degree. But yes, art school would be beneficial, especially a major related to design. Depending on what type of work you would want to do, you could also look into also getting a degree in communications. Just make sure you look for opportunities to do internships, as these jobs are hard to come by.

how can i cancel a seventeen magazine subscription?

i entered a contest to win a $10,000 shopping spree, and when i pressed submit it said that it’ll bill me to my address. i don’t want to subscribe, how can i cancel it without getting any magazines? like, can i cancel it online? i just signed up for the contest a few minutes ago, how can i cancel the subscription?

Yes, you can cancel it online. Email SVNcustserv@cdsfulfillment.com and just say that you want to cancel your subscription. They respond fast, don’t worry (they canceled my order in 20 minutes).

They were pretty sneaky about the subscription part of the entry form!

Is slamming the magazine into a handgun to drop the slide bad for the gun?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin in magazine | 6 Comments »

I’ve noticed that some handguns will drop their slide automatically if your push the magazine into them hard enough. A freind of mine told me this was bad, while other things I’ve heard is that it is fine and they were designed for this. So is it good or bad?

If slamming a magazine in damages your weapon, get a new weapon. All the ’slam’ does is bump the release through it’s natural range of motion and release the slide faster than you can by hand.

I’ve seen a ton of FTF’s because people didn’t seat the magazine well, and fired thousands of rounds seating it hard enough to work the action.

Seating a mag and running the action, 2 things in firearms you do like you mean it.

POLL: Discount Dance Or Dance Spirit Magazine?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin in discount magazines | 4 Comments »

Apples and oranges: one is a merchandise catalog, the other is a dance periodical that you pay for. Did you mean to compare Dance magazine with Dance Spirit magazine? If so, each has something good to offer.

Home decorating magazines & websites?

Where can I find home decorating magazines or websites?

My family gets Better Homes& Gardens and that has a lot of good decorating tips. If you’re looking for more teen style decorating then AmericanGirl is a good magazine. Try googling decorating ideas and that usually shows up with lots of good sites. Good luck

How do I control my magazine subscriptions more effectively?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin in magazine subscriptions | 4 Comments »

stop subscribing and just get the current issues from your library. they have at least 30 mags that they subscribe to. this way, you won’t have to pay for the subscriptions, the mags won’t clutter up your house since you will eventually return them and you won’t have to recycle them on your own.

What are some really good girl teen magazines to subscribe to?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin in magazines | 6 Comments »

My membership just expired to "J-14" magazine, and I’m already subscribed to "seventeen", but what are some other good teen magazines for girls age 13-17 that I could subscribe to?

Get into something else other than mindless girl magazines. Anything.

Any educators know where I can get a cheaper subscription to THE MAILBOX magazine?

Posted on November 26th, 2009 by admin in cheap magazine subscriptions | 4 Comments »

I love it, but $30 for like 6 issues or whatever it is, is pretty steap for a first year teacher!!!

I never subscribed to Mailbox. Our library had a subscription and i was often able to find old back issues for cheap cheap at various locations – yard sales, library clear-outs, used book stores.

Don’t waste your money on a new magazine subscription.
