Cheap indoor motion detector for around $30? Seen in some magazines but where?

Trying to prevent a certain family member from raiding the kitchen every night.
Need an inexpensive indoor motion detector that I could put on a wall.
Looked in Xtreme Geek and Herrington but cannot remember where I saw one.

has some.
You might also check your local "big box" hardware store.

What’s the difference between various fashion magazines?

Posted on October 26th, 2009 by admin in fashion magazines | 1 Comment »

I’m making an attempt to be more fashion savvy. But what is the difference between vogue, vanity fair, glamour, cosmo, style, etc etc etc etc?? And do you have a preference?? why?? There’s hundreds of them!

Also, I’m 20 years old so no little teen magazine suggestions please, leave the tiger beat at home.

First, I applaud you on your interest and new adventure into the world of fashion. Its a fast-paced kinda place — but it’s fun. ;)

My personal favorite is Vogue, and this would also be my suggestion as to which is the "best". They are all amazing and follow trends impeccably well, but for the money you’ll spend vs. the information and brilliant new ideas and designers and such, Vogue is your best value.

I’d really suggest picking up a few, and just scanning through them to see what style is preferable for you to read and enjoy, since everyone’s taste is a bit different.

Have fun, happy shopping! ;P

Whats with all these cheap magazines and soap operas on tv? Is this just women being silly?

Posted on October 26th, 2009 by admin in cheap magazines | 13 Comments »

Their as appealing to women as sports magazines are to men.

I’m not saying sports are bad but the hype about them is overrated. If one can argue sports can build character/health, then soap operas teach social standards and communication.

Of course, not all men or women are into these things but generalizing all women as fans of those shows is too simple.

I am interested in purchasing a subscription to ESPN The Magazine and I noticed there there are a ton of websites that sell subscriptions to this magazine. Which is the most reputable magazine subscription website out there?

PCH.com cheaper subscriptions, plus you can win ten million bucks in the sweepstakes. But you will also get a lot of mail from them too, they want to sell you more stuff, but I have bought stuff from them too, and it’s cheap. Low prices I mean.

How do I get a pet product featured in a magazine?

Posted on October 26th, 2009 by admin in magazine | 1 Comment »

I have a pet product that I think many magazines would be interested in for their magazines (we are not interested in paid advertising at this point). This is a large product, so it is hard to send out samples to magazines. How can we get a magazine to feature our product, and also will they take their own pictures of the product or use images that we send them?

You’re going to have to be choosy, but you will need to send samples for the magazine to review. Magazines only profit by selling advertising- a story in essence would be free advertising and unless there is some angle that can be worked, an editor is not going to give the go-ahead on a product story with no interesting qualities. For example, if you had invented and marketed a new dog collar that keeps the dog from barking without electric shock or anything uncomfortable or painful and had trainers using it, you might be able to sell a story, however, if your product was just smaller than existing models, there is no story there.
